The 300 PRC delivers a modern, highly efficient magnum design, built to maximize the performance of long, heavy-for-caliber bullets. This cartridge achieves exceptional accuracy and aerodynamic efficiency, making it ideal for long-range shooting.
Engineers based the 300 PRC on the .375 Ruger case, eliminating the belt and using a standard .532” magnum bolt face. The cartridge headspaces off its 30-degree shoulder, ensuring better chamber alignment than traditional belted magnums. This design also improves stacking and feeding from fixed magazines, enhancing reliability.
Developers designed the 300 PRC cartridge and chamber together to optimize alignment and performance. The case accommodates temperature-stable, magnum-speed rifle powders, generating consistent velocities while extending barrel life beyond that of many existing magnum cartridges.

Best extended range terminal performance available
Upon low velocity, 400+ yard impacts, the Heat Shield tip drives backward into the bullet to initiate expansion. Exhibiting controlled expansion with a large mushroom and 85-90% retained weight, the bullet provides deep penetration and large cavities. Available as component bullets or in factory loaded Precision Hunter ammunition.
