Cold Steel has always defied convention. While other companies were making small, delicate knives, Cold Steel introduced a series of blades that were essentially “pocket swords.”

The Cold Steel Espada was a collaboration between custom knifemaker Andrew Demko and Lynn C. Thompson. Inspired by classic Spanish Navaja knives, the Espada is a modern folder that took the market by storm. It comes in two sizes, but despite their size, both models are expertly designed to fit discreetly and comfortably in your pocket.

Using the patented Demko Thumb Plate, you can open the Large and Extra-Large Espada knives instantly as you draw them from your pocket. The blades are made from Japanese AUS-10A stainless steel, and each one features the patented Tri-Ad locking mechanism. This lock has amazing strength and shock resistance. During Cold Steel’s product testing, the XL Espada not only held 600 pounds of free-hanging weight but also supported a hanging engine block.
